Ray Titus started Signarama in 1986 with his father. After the original store in Farmingdale, New York became successful, the duo decided to start franchising the concept in 1987. After many years of success with Signarama, Ray decided to expand his concept and help other entrepreneurs with different ideas get their businesses off the ground by franchising. This was the beginning of United Franchise Group, which is now internationally successful with multiple brands and over 1,600 franchise locations in about 80 different countries.

Jim Tatem

President of Transworld Business Advisors

“JT” Jim Tatem has more than 30 years experience having helped over 3,000 individuals run, grow, and sell their business. JT began his franchising career in 1986 with Ray Titus, CEO, learning firsthand what it means to be an entrepreneur. Having been instrumental in the growth of United Franchise Group and its brands over the course of 30 years, in 2016 JT decided to become a business broker himself leading Transworld Business Advisors of Asheville, NC & Greenville, Spartanburg & Anderson, SC. In 2024 he returned to United Franchise Group, appointed as President of Transworld to lead the brand through its next phase of growth. JT is a family driven husband of almost 40 years, raising and loving 4 children and 6 grandchildren and is an active member of his local church and community, with a strong belief in putting faith before fortune.
